Hubort or AI Toolbox: which one should search your AI chats?
AI Toolbox is one of the most used tools of its kind, with 40,000 users, Google's Featured badge and a 4.7 rating, and it adds folders, a prompt library and bulk export to search. It is a single extension, with nothing else to install. Hubort covers the same four services, is free for two accounts where AI Toolbox's free search shows five results, and costs less across all four: $29 a year against $59 a year for each service. If you want prompts, folders and export inside the chat page, AI Toolbox is built for that. If your chats are spread across accounts or browser profiles, look at Hubort. Everything below was read from AI Toolbox's own site and store listing on 30 September 2026.
What is different between Hubort and AI Toolbox?
The main differences are what each adds beside search, what it costs across the four services, and where the search lives. This is what each product's own pages said on 30 September 2026.

When is AI Toolbox the better choice?
When you want tools inside the chat page and don't want a second install. It puts folders, a prompt library, smart tags, prompt chaining and bulk export (Markdown, JSON, PDF and ZIP) into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok themselves. It works in any desktop Chromium browser, so wherever one runs, where Hubort is Windows only. It has a Teams plan with a shared prompt library, a 14-day money-back guarantee, and 891 ratings behind a 4.7, against a Hubort listing that is days old. If one browser and one account per service is how you work, it is the quicker way to start.
When is Hubort the better choice?
When cost across the four services, or accounts and browser profiles, matter most. Hubort Personal covers all four services and every account you sync for $29 a year, or $79 once, where AI Toolbox sells each service as its own module: $59 a year each, so $236 for four, or $199 once for all four. Hubort is free for two sources with nothing held back. A source is one account on one provider, however many browsers it syncs from. Its search sits in one database on your computer, outside any browser, filled by the extension in each profile, so accounts in different profiles are one search, and nothing about your chats or folders syncs to a server: Hubort has no cloud account. The two are not like for like, though: what AI Toolbox adds beside search (prompts, tags, chaining) is not in Hubort.
Does AI Toolbox search across two accounts of the same service?
Its site doesn't say. Its home and pricing pages don't mention several accounts of one service or browser profiles. It says your conversations are cached “locally in your browser (IndexedDB)”, so its search sits in the browser it is installed in. We haven't run it against two accounts, so we can't say how it behaves; if you know, tell us.
What should I know before choosing Hubort?
Three awkward facts, so you hear them from us. Hubort is Windows only for now, and needs two installs: the app, then the extension in each browser. Its installer is not code-signed yet, so your browser and Windows will each warn you about it; the download page says exactly what you'll see. And it reads each service's web app on a schedule, which may be inconsistent with that service's terms: the full note is in the privacy policy.

How do I try Hubort?
Install the app, then add the extension to each browser you use AI in. Every install starts with 14 days of everything.
